One of 20 deluxe copies, signed by Gudrun Zapf. Of the 7 original specimens, at least 3 are leaves: there is the entire signature Gudrun designed for "Libor Librorum,"a double leaf for a Latin classic (with illustration), and an 8-page section from Holderlin's "Testament der Mutter." First major retrospective of this German book bookbinder, calligrapher, and designer of the Diotima typeface. A handsome book, designed by Gudrun"s husband Hermann Zapf, reproducing numerous fine bindings, (and photographs of the artist in her bindery) and calligraphed books & broadsides.
