Richard Bentley 1838 - 3 vols, small 8vo, early re-bound in 3/4 dk green leather and green textured cloth, spines with 5 raised bands and 6 compartment, titles in gold in two compartments and date (1838) at bases, teg, scattered spots of rubbing to all spines and spine edges, sl. bumping and rubbing to corners, else clean, bright and tight; marbled eps, all vols. show scattered areas of light marginal foxing and transfer to tp's from frontis engravings, else clean and unmarked internally; 24 plates by Cruikshank; pp.331,307,315; all three volumes show "BOZ" as author; third volume contains the "fireside" plate at rear which was changed in later printings. A very nice first edition of this title, showing the author as "Boz" in all three volumes and the "fireside" plate in rear of Vol.III. Exterior shows some wear but still attractive.
