First edition of this Elzevier-publication on the modern history of Germany. As explained in the prologue, this work covers only the modern history of Germany, whereas the reader is referred to "Germaniae Antiquae libri tres" by Philippus Cluverius from 1616 (Willems 108). The privilege of 1626 separately printed on last page of part II. Engraved title page by Cornelis Claeszoon Duysend. Typographic title page of part II with date 1634 and woodcut Non Solus printer's mark. Illustrated with 4 large headpieces, 3 small headpieces and 3 endpieces. At the beginning of most chapters a 4- or 5-line decorated woodcut-initial. Fine copy from the library of Mr. W. van Iterson, with his folding ex-libris, depicting the Dom Tower of Utrecht, mounted on inside front cover.
