A very rare, interleaved catalogue listing the shells found on Corsica written by the eminent French naturalist, botanist, paleontologist and macalogist Esprit Requien (1788-1852). Requien dedicated most of his life to the first botanical inventory of Corsica and founded the library of the Musée d'Histoire in Avignon. In 1839 he donated his scientific collection and a large part of his collection of books to the Fondation Calvet, who still run the Museum Requien.Bottom of spine damaged; wrappers slightly soiled. Very rare conchological work on Corsica in good condition.
