Autograph letter signed, referring to Christie's novel and play, The Hollow.
[1973?] 1973 - Single sheet, octavo (178 x 139 mm). Blue ink on unlined paper, text to recto, second signature to lower verso. Creased from folding, in fine condition. A letter signed "Agatha Mallowan" addressed to Cicily and Jack Courtnedge [sic], who performed in a touring adaptation of Christie's The Hollow. She writes, "you were superb - both of you - in The Hollow! I did enjoy it so much. I've got a list of performance places - but one always mislays things when one leaves home to go on holiday." The Courtneidges frequently acted together on stage, screen, and the radio; here Christie refers to the 1973 production in which they both starred, and which began at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre. The Hollow was first published in book form in 1946, and Christie's adaptation of the novel premiered at the Cambridge Arts Theatre in February 1951. Wagstaff & Poole, p. 197.
