Edward Moxon, London 1850 - Small octavo. (viii) 210pp. Period green pebbled leather boards with gilt lettering on the spine. All edges of the book block in gilt. Binding by James Hayday. The publication is a first edition, first printing of the acclaimed work by Tennyson. The poem serves as a memorial tribute to the deceased poet Arthur Henry Hallam, a close friend of Tennyson, and is written in iambic tetrameter. Binding with some minor scratches and smudging to the covers. Corners and some edges with some rubbing. Spine with rubbing to hinges and at head & tail. Interior with some light foxing to interior covers and endpapers. Bidding in overall very good-, interior in very good+ condition overall. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
