Wales Illustrated in a Series of Views, Comprising the Picturesque Scenery, Towns, Castles, Seats of the Nobility & Gentry, Antiquities, &c.
Jones, London. 1830 - First edition. Quarto. Unpaginated. 212 steel engravings, two per page, from original drawings by Henry Gastineau. Period binding in full black leather, raised bands, decorated gilt spine, gilt decoration on upper and lower covers. All edges gilt. This would appear to be one of several issues, the more common being one in two volumes. On the front pastedown is the armorial bookplate of the parliamentarian John Severn (1781-1875) of Penybent Hall, Radnorshire. Some rubbing to head and tail of spine and lower edges. Sporadic spotting to some of the plates. Very good. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
