The Pictorial Bible: Being the Old and New Testaments [King James Version]
New York: J. S. Redfield - Clinton Hall, 1850. Undated, ca. 1850. Fair to good condition. Illustrated with "more than one thousand engravings" representing historical events, landscape scenes, natural history, costume and antiquities, plus folding map of Palestin. Full black grained leather with gilt lettering and decoration, slightly raised and decorated spine bands, 11.5" tall, 3.5" thick. Some expected external rubbing, hinges internally cracked but secure, text block sound, folding map has extra creases and a long closed tear but no paper loss, foxing and age-toning throughout, old transparent stain to top 1/4" of pages throughout, no names or other markings. Includes engraved title with page after it - which was probably the regular title page - neatly removed. . Hard Cover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
