[There Were 150 Copies Numbered Signed Copies In The Subscriber's Edition, Half Leather, An Undetermined Number Of Lettered Copies, And 100 Copies Of The Trade Edition In Cloth, Some Of Which Were Also Signed.] Contents Fine, Boards Near Fine; The Leather Spine Is Near Fine But Had Become Partly Detached And Has Been Professionally Re-Attached At Heritage Bindery. This Is A Presentation Copy From The Publisher, Felix Guggenheim, With A 5 Line Handwritten Quotation From Goethe, Signed Below " G (Guggenheim's Insignia Actually) / 1944". The Format Of The Inscription Is Similar (Quote And Signature And Date Below) To Another Copy Obtained From Ame Source, Which Was Explicitly Inscribed To Lotte (Lenya); This Book Probably Also Sent To Weill Or Lenya As A Gift.
