- New York. Charles Scribner's Sons. 1900. 4to. (10 x 8). [14], 204 pp. including index, plus errata. Limited Edition. Book number 57 of 120 copies published. The volume was printed by the De Vinne Press. With a copper-engraved portrait of Izaak Walton as frontispiece, signed by the artist, Thomas Johnson. Engraved title page by Edwin Davis French. This edition printed on Van Gelder handmade paper. Includes 86 photo-engraved title pages from actual examples, beginning with the first edition of 1653 and concluding with a 1900 reprint. Each volume of The Complete Angler described with collations, measurements of each volume, illustrations. The book is bound in its original half vellum spine and corners and mustard colored cloth boards with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. With a short, neat gift inscription to Walter Jennings, a member of the Restigouche Salmon Club during the early twentieth century on the front end paper. Quite scarce. A very nice book. Clean, bright and very good.
