Light toning to text, somewhat heavier in places, internally clean. An attractive copy of a scarce title. $300. * First edition. Carter's guide is an updates Coke's Compleate Copy-Holder (1630). Much land was held in copyhold tenure in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and this work, which contains numerous cases and precedents, was useful to lords and tenants alike.
