Quant by Quant
London: Cassell 1966. FIRST EDITION, with two important autographs. Crown octavo, pp.[vi]; 198; [4], index. With three suites of eight black and white plates and jacket photographed by David Bailey. A curious copy, signed by the author in coloured felt-tip pen at the book launch with an additional ballpoint inscription beneath, in the hand of Quant's fellow designer and collaborator; 'Edited by Cecil Beaton'. The Oscar-winning designer is not credited with this role within the book but clearly attended the publication event in this capacity. The book is well used with some tears to the jacket. The original owner has pencilled some insightful notes to the flyleaf 'Had a great day with Miss Watson, Ruby. Food great. Many stars. Coffee. Read. Laughed'. A particuarly relevant association and a charming item.
