Tremvan, Llanbedrog, N Wales: Author, 1915 VG, Ltd ed, 1915. Green cloth, gilt crest to upper board, corners & edge lightly bumped. Spine, edges bumped, gilt titles. Internally, half title, [4], (v-xviii), 198 pp, [2] postscript, green marbled endpapers, no inscriptions. An edition limited to 334 copies + a number on thin paper (as is this). (Matthews - Last Celtic Shaman p331. Menocal - Taliesin 1911-1914). Evans, palaeographer, who from 1909 onwards, became interested in the interpretation of texts, especially the hengerdd poetry of Aneirin and Taliesin. His theories were presented in his commentaries to The Text of the Book of Taliesin (1910); Facsimile and Text of the Book of Taliesin (1910 [1916]); The Poetry in the Red Book of Hergest (1911); Poems from the Book of Taliesin, Amended and Translated (1915 [1916]); and The Book of Aneirin Revised and Translated, volume 2 (1922 [1924]; students' edition, 1934).
