The Princess and the Goblin
Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott and Co, (1871). First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First printing of the probable first American edition. (Since Lippincott was Strahan's, the first British publishers, American associate and this book was actually published in December 1871 with an 1872 title page date [a common publishers practice for books late in the year] it likely precedes the Routledge edition.) Tipped-in ad for Ranald Bannerman's Boyhood, 203, (12) pp. Original brown cloth with gilt and black stamping. Illustrated. Very Good with strong gilt, slight lean, a few tiny tears in rear gutter, some signatures protruding irregularly, foxing to top edge, last two pages of text have light staining. Rare.
