Front cover handsigned by Cabu, and dated Dec. 16, 2014 (22 days before his assassination). Collection of hundreds of Charlie Hebdo front pages from its creation in 1969 until 1981. Most of the front page illustrations featured in this work are by Cabu, Wolinski, Reiser, and Gébé. Book in like new condition.- The "Je suis Charlie (I am Charlie) slogan became an endorsement of freedom of speech and press. * Jean Cabut (1938-2015), known by the pen-name Cabu, was one of France's major comic strip artists and caricaturists who died in the infamous January 7, 2015 shooting attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices along with seven of his colleagues, two police officers, and two others. On that day, two Islamist gunmen stormed the newspaper's offices in Paris and opened fire.
