Madrid, Antonio Marin 1732 - There is also a half title which reads : Rapsodia economico politica monarquica. One volume in 12mo; pp. (16), 256; contemporary limp vellum with ties, clean and in very good condition, vertically handwritten title “Rapsodia Economico”to spine, sprinkled edges, inside clean and crisp, an excellent copy. First edition, very rare. Don Alvaro Navia-Oroso y Vigil, third Marquis Santa Cruz de Marcenado (1684-1732), was a Spanish aristocrat who followed both a military and diplomatic career. He was killed in a battle in northern Africa. During his time as Spanish ambassador in Turin he had leisure to study, accumulated a remarkable library, and began to write an 11-volume work on war and also this work on economic policy. His comercio suelto of 1732 was influenced by the work of Uztariz theorica y practica de comercio 1724. Only two copies located in WorldCat, not in COPAC.
