Hardcover, uniformly bound in the original publisher's duo-colour full cloth, spines gilt; last volume mint in blue full cloth with dust-jacket. In about fine condition. An excellent set. ~ First edition. The Egyptian Coffin Texts Project began by Breasted and Gardiner in 1922 and was edited by De Buck from 1935 until his death in 1959. It encompassed seven volumes with the 7th volume published posthueously. The work was completed in 2006 with the publication of the 8th volume, edited by James P. Allen. The present complete set comprises entirely of rare first edition volumes. ~ Provenance: From the library of renowned Egyptologist Prof. Dr. Heerma van Voss (1923-2015) with his charming bookplate inside cover of each of the first seven volume. The first volume includes also the flap with introductory text from the original dust-jacket, loosely inserted, and the title from the dust-jacket, mounted on paste-down.
