Ongyoku Gedai Sugoroku
Tsujioka-ya Kamekichi 1866 - A large woodblock print by Kunichika (a former student of Utagawa Kunisada), beautifully coloured, of musicians performing in plays and Kabuki. This is a traditional Japanese board game called Sugoroku. Occasional small stains. Published in Keio 2 (1866), this print also comes complete with its original envelope, also woodblock printed in colour. Copies including the envelope are very rare. Includes many illustration of artists of popular songs from the end of the Edo Period, like Nagauta, Gidayu, and Kiyomoto. Very rare. Text in Japanese. [Attributes: Soft Cover]
