London, George Routledge and Sons, n.d. ca 1900. 16 volumes. Hardbacks. 9 x 6 inches. Quarter-bound in red calf leather to spines and corners, and red cloth covered boards. Raised banding to spines with gilt lettering and banding decoration. Gilt line edging to boards. Top page edges gilt. Pink endpapers. In very good conditions. Some very minor rubbing to edges. A couple of spines slightly faded (Auriol, St. Pauls.) Some darkening to corners of endpapers. Some darkening/spotting to outer edges at leading edges. Else inside pages very clean and tight throughout. A very nice set. Each volume Illustrated with b&w steel engravings by George Cruikshank, Hablot K. Brown and others.
