Blue-grey cloth, paper spine label printed in black with red line, top of spine and label once broken, but repaired, edges chipped, cloth darkened, a good copy, hinges cracking. With the decorative book-plate of Lady Charlotte Schreiber on front pastedown, signed W.B. Yeats on front free endpaper. First edition, first printing, Wade’s binding variant 1, of Yeats’ first clothbound publication. Published as number 32 in "The Camelot Series." Six terminal pages of ads include this title listed last in the list of titles in this series, this copy being one with edges untrimmed. Errata slip tipped in prior to the first page of the introduction. As with the copy Wade describes in the BL (received 27 Sept. 1888), this copy has no “Camelot Series” additions to the half-title. In addition to editing, Yeats’ contributions include "The Stolen Child" and "The Priest of Coloony." Lady Schreiber, as Lady Guest, translated the first modern version of the Mabinogion. WADE 212.
