1925. Darrow Discusses a Matter in Omaha Darrow, Clarence [1857-1938]. [Autograph Letter, Signed, On the Letterhead of Darrow, Smith, Cronson & Smith, October 6 (1925-1929)]. Single 8-1/2" x 7-1/4" sheet. Some toning, two fold lines, one horizontal and one vertical, faint coffee stain near upper right hand corner, otherwise fine. $1,000. * Addressed to a Mr. Becker (or Beber) and signed by a bold signature, this note relates to a business or legal matter in Omaha, Nebraska. It reads (in part): "I could come to Omaha, but would not want to promise after Dec 15th. I am selling 500-, [illegible] of which I would pay my own traveling expense." The firm of Darrow, Smith, Cronson & Smith existed from 1925 to 1929. Darrow's relationship with these attorneys began when he opposed them during the trial of Leopold and Loeb.
