Four volumes. 8vo. cxcii, 120; xx, 354; xvi, 362; xiv, 336pp; each volume with a 6-7pp list of the STS publications at the rear. Publisher's binding of quarter roan and green cloth, top edges gilt; extremities a little rubbed. A good to very good clean set. The shade of the leather of I & IV is black, while that of the other two volumes is dark brown (as issued). Owner's name in each volume. ***An anthology of literature compiled in Scotland in the 16thC by the Edinburgh merchant George Bannatyne; an important source for Scots (and some English) poetry of the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as some of Bannatyne's own writing. .
