In 1 vol, contemporary speckled boards, box style blind tooling, corners refurbished. New spine, to style, raised bands, gilt titles. Internally, [2] gen title with engraving, A1-4O3 (OT), 4P1-5L4 (Apocrypha), 1 pl (NT TP with St John in Patmos, [1] blank with Davies family genealogy, A2-2F3 (NT). Lacks the frontispiece & 1 blank, new endpapers, title page with some loss has been mounted, occasional paper repair, probably in the early 1930's was re-cased & had a Library spine, some marginal worm activity, some light marginal stains. Unpaged. Text printed in double columns with chapter headings, marginal references and dates, etc. But a good copy of the Bishop Lloyd's Bible, from its chef promoter William Lloyd (1627-1717), Bishop of St Asaph and more. [23*38.3 cm]. (Darlow 9594. Ballinger - Bible in Wales 18. ESTC R30836-variation of). This is the earliest edition of the Welsh Scriptures to be printed outside London, and the first to contain marginal dates. Not a few mistakes were corrected, and changes were made in orthography.
