Contemporary full leather, volume II with later new spine, 5 raised bands with 2 red labels. Quarto 10½'' x 8½''. Contains [4], [iv], 5-719; [4], 644, [28 Index], [2 Directions for the Plates], [8 List of Subscribers]. Engraved frontispiece in each volume. Illustrated with 69 [of 70, plate on page 543 to volume I is missing - Hyrcanus and Phasael taken prisoners by Antigonus] fine engravings, including frontispieces, and 8 maps [of which 2 are folding]. Age toning to the end leaves and edges, heavy rubbing to the covers, hinges strong and tight, very good wide-margined copy. Member of the P.B.F.A.
