Stratton, Manila, no date, ca 1902. 1 small album oblong (18,5cm *14 cm), red full-cloth binding, with printed title in black, illustrated by black and white photographic plates mostly on Philippines (131 photographs). This album is in very good condition. A scarce small album, with 208 black and white illustrations, mostly on Philippines, a few on Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Hawaiien Islands. "These views are photogravure-reproductions from the cleareast photographs obtained. They have been selected from thousands of photographs, and represent the conditions, customs and home life of the people of these islands;also, the hardships, privations and dangers to which the American soldiers exposed in our new possessions. Many of the scenes were taken on the firing line and under conditions of great personal risk to the photographer." H.H. Stratton. Philippines became an American colonial possession in 1901. Photographs were taken in the years afterwards.
