Thomas Tegg, no III Cheapside, London 1816 - First edition. 252 pages complete with twenty-eight aquatint plates (including a folded frontispiece and title page). Full tan calf binding expertly re-backed, spine gilt in 6 compartments, contrast labels – title in gilt to second compartment, date to 6th compartment, green end papers, all edges marbled. Binding is rubbed to spine and edges, leather has come off at top right corner front cover, mark on back cover. Externally very good indeed, internally occasional small stains but pages and illustrations bright and clean. Previous owners book label to front endpaper, pencil mark front end paper, small mark to illustration page 196, light crease to corners pages 60/ 61, original printing error, number 7 missing from page 167. Pages 31/ 32 cancelled (C8), pagination includes two pages 73 and two pages 74, but does have the errata slip bound in at the rear. Further details and images are available on request.
