London, printed and published for the author, by Bradbury and Evans, 90, Fleet Street, and Whitefriars, 1846. - Eleventh edition. (8), 166, (2) pp. + 4 engraved, hand-coloured plates. Publisher's gilt and blindstamped red cloth with gilt edges. Spine just slightly slanted, corners slightly bumped, boards just slightly soiled. Frontispiece and title-leaf with some very faint, trifle soiling, internally else fine. Beautiful copy of the eleventh edition of Dickens' first Christmas book. The first edition of "A Christmas Carol" was published in December 1843, and was soon followed by several reprints, which also are to be considered scarce.This is the eleventh edition from 1846, with four hand-coloured plates and the title-leaf printed in red and blue.
