Berriman for Berriman & Co.Lacks 8 plates including the frontispiece for the New Testament.Noteworthy & handsomely produced Bible: the First Edition of the scarce Berriman Bible printed in two columns with sidenotes including scriptural cross-references and a chronology. Noted for superior illustrations by contemporary American engravers, including Alexander Anderson, Cornelius Tiebout, and William Rollinson.Contemporary leather, skillfully rebacked and several pages professionally repaired by our experts, covers scuffed; spine with original gilt-stamped title label laid down. Scattered foxing; a few pages have their margins cut closely--presumably as originally bound.
