Upper third of title page replaced by a facsimile or by a piece from another copy (the paper appears identical). The first page of the preface shows two erasures. Faint marginal foxing; faint notation at outside margin of p. 387; occasional marginal inking and some penciling; otherwise very good condition. Provenance: Robert Harding Evans of Pall Mall sale, March 31, 1832 (Philip Hurd collection, per note on endpaper); Swann Galleries, November 8, 2007.
