The Antiquities of Ireland, Volumes 1 and 2
London; Hooper; -5 1791 - First edition, first printing. Published posthumously following the author's volumes on England/ Wales and Scotland. Volume one contains 140 engraved plates and volume two126 engraved plates. Some foxing and wear to the hinges and stitching, but the text and plates are largely unaffected. Both volumes bound in green leather with gilt titles to the spine. The bookplate of Captain Robert Jocelyn Otway (Royal Navy) is stuck on each front paste down - Robert Otway believed to be of the land owning Otway family of Tipperary. Volume one has a couple of extensive tears to the spine, but externally the volumes are generally in very good condition. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
