Plan Of The Town Of Leeds With The Recent Improvements ...
C.Fowler / E.Baines - London - - 31 x 19.5 - Uncoloured - A detailed plan of nineteenth-century Leeds before the arrival of the railways. The map extends from Sheepscar in the north to Mr Benyon's Factory in the south and from Wharf Bridge over the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in the west to Richmond Road in the east. Beneath the map is a reference to the public buildings; the churches, chapels, charitable buildings, and Law, Commercial and other buildings. The map was engraved by Neele and Son and was published in Edward Baines' "Yorkshire Directory". With slight evidence of old folds, a minor repair to the margin at lower left and a small, repaired nick in the paper at top centre (not affecting the printed area).
