Capt. W.H.Smyth / Hydrographical Office - London - - 46.5 x 61.5 - Coloured - A detailed chart of Marsa Scirocco (Marsaxlokk) on the southern coast of Malta, with an inset view of St Lucian's Tower, by Captain William Henry Smyth that was published by the British Admiralty's Hydrographic Office. The Maltese coastline is shown from Benhisa Point to Schawopalogan Point and navigational aids include sounding depths, the delineation of reefs and sandbanks and recognisable features on land. Smyth's charts of the Mediterranean remained in use until the end of the century. Laid on canvas. With attractive later hand colour.
