First Polish edition of this series of essays by Ehrenburg (1891-1967), the prolific Soviet writer, journalist, and translator who spent much of the 1920-30s in Western Europe and maintained close ties with avant-garde artists, émigré circles, and left-leaning writers while serving as Soviet press correspondent. Translated by Tadeusz Jakubowicz (?). With an attractive constructivist wrapper design attributed to the Polish architect and painter Henryk Nowina-Czerny, which resembles the Russian original (1926).
