Narrative of Sojourner Truth; A Bondswoman of Olden Time
Battle Creek, MI: Review and Herald Office, 1884. Very Good. 320, 32 p. Original green cloth with gilt stamping, tissue-guarded portrait of the author from a photo taken not long before her death. Memorial edition. (Apparently first thus with dated title page.) About Very Good condition. Dampstain to front corner and marginal corner of first third of book, not touching text; pages otherwise clean and bright. A bit of discoloration to spine. Gilt fairly strong. A bit of bumping to corners. The author died in late November 1883 and this volume, reprinting the 1875 edition, came out the following year with a special memorial chapter added, consisting of an interview with Truth, a description of her funeral, a poem in her honor, thoughts from a few abolitionists about her, and her favorite song.
