Dublin: New Writers' Press, 1969. First Edition. SIGNED by Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) on the title page. A collection of eight poems in a limited edition; this is number 145 of 300 copies. Translated and with an introductory note by Anthony Kerrigan. Book and pictorial wrappers designed by Michael Smith, with a striking linocut by Trevor Joyce. Small 8vo., 10 1/8 inches (25.7 cm) high. [4], 23, [2] pages. Very Good, with light toning to the edges and faint offsetting from the front flap to the end paper. Signed copies of this collection are not often found in the market. SCARCE. The poems are: "My Entire Life," "Houses Like Angels," "The Tango," "The Golem," "Allusion to a Ghost of the Eighteen Nineties," Conjectural Poem, "To an Old Poet," and "Limits." Except for "To an Old Poet," the poems appeared in slightly different form in "Personal Anthology" (Grove Press, 1967) or in Encounter magazine.
