Finely bound in three-quarter navy morocco and blue boards, with five raised bands to the spine, spine compartments decorated in gilt, lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, with the advertisements and original pictorial wrappers bound in at the rear of the text. Binding with some light wear to the spine ends, short closed tear to the preliminary publisher's advertisement, a few faint spots to the endpapers, minor toning to the otherwise fresh interior. Overall, an attractive and very good copy. Livingston 44. This series includes Soldiers Three, The Story of Gadsbys, In Black and White, Under the Deodars, and The Phantom Rickshaw, and constitutes some of Kipling's earliest published story collections.. 1st Edition..
