Folio, approximately 375 x 285 mm, 14¾ x 11 inches, 62 mounted colour plates with tissue guards, 9 being ½ or ¼ page, 17 black and white plates, 42 mostly mounted text illustrations. BROWN DAMP STAINING TO LOWER MARGINS AFFECTING MOST PAGES, 14 colour plates have no stains, 1 colour plate has pale foxing, 4 colour plates have the stain just affecting the image, the rest have the stain just touching or close to the borders but not running into the image, 3 black and white images have the stain running into the lower part of the image, original publisher's vellum binding, brown lettering and decoration to spine and lettering to upper cover. Binding rubbed, stained and soiled, slight damage to the hinges at bottom of spine, endpapers foxed, large stain to lower margins, see attached images, occasional foxing to margins, pale browning to some top edges, nowhere near images, first and last free endpapers rippled at lower margin, a fair copy only.
