TROILUS AND CRISEYDE
Waltham St. Lawrence: Golden Cockerel Press, 1927. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +. Eric Gill. Lovely copy (no. 170 of 225) in original binding of 1/4 leather (golden brown) and patterned paper sides by Sangorski & Sutcliffe (stamp-signed on front pastedown). Binding is a bright and clean VG+, no cracking in the joints, no corner bumps, just a couple of tiny wear spots (1/8 of an inch) to the paper corners, gilt titles bright and clear. There are natural (light-dark) variations in the leather, to a pleasing antique appearance. Some old paste residue from a previous owner's bookplate, otherwise no markings. Contents are completely fine and fresh, no foxing. Top edge gilt others deckled. A delightful, fresh, and completely original copy of one of the very best Cockerels.
