III: xv, [1], 455, [1], [5- index]. [1], 477-479, [1], hand-tinted frontispiece plate, title page with vignette and 22 further hand-tinted plates, with letterpress pages of descriptions. Attractive modern tan half-calf with marbled boards, bound to style with five raised bands to the spine and red and green title labels, gilt decoration; bindings very good with minimal wear. All edges marbled. Contents good and tight, plates generally clean; some offsetting, spotting and marking to title pages from frontispieces and occasionally offsetting from plates to letterpress pages, light waterstaining and cockling to some letterpress pages. Overall a very good set of this important early work on British paleontology.. First and Second Editions. Half Leather. Very Good. 4to (22 x 28cm).
