Brown pebble cloth hardcover with gilt title, Mammy illustration, and black borders and decorations on front cover. Gilt title on spine. Blind stamped borders on rear cover. Green floral end sheets. Beveled edges. Cloth is edge worn head and base of spine and split along the rear joint. Corners bumped. Front hinge is cracked. Author inscribed this copy to one of his relatives - "To Aunt Kate With the Love and Compliments of her affectionate Nephew Will L. Visscher, Omaha Neb May 24, 1887." Wyoming Territorial imprint.
