Very Good heavy card paperback with a touch of soiling, light wear along the spine edges, creases to the spine, forms a little loose, and corners blunted. BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. A fascinating World War II-era, Japanese monograph on the work of Pablo Picasso, produced by the famed Takamizawa Colour Print Studio. The volume includes, bound-in, a gravure reproduction of Man Ray's portrait of Picasso, four original color woodblock prints of Picasso works, and three original gravures after Picasso lithographs. There is also a section of line drawings which appear to be gravure-printed and a letter from Picasso, reproduced and bound-in, which may be signed by three unknown Japanese persons. The date of publication is actually 2599, the Imperial dating system used during the war which started with the first emperor in 660 BCE. From an edition limited to 500 numbered copies, this being #350. 7 bound-in prints + 117 heavy glossy leaves, printed recto only + 20 thin folded sheets bound-in + 20 text pages [ca. 280 pages]; 260 color and b&w illustrations, printed offset, gravure, and woodblock; 9.25 x 12.5 inches.
