Original printed wrappers. Housed in a black cloth solander box by the Chelsea Bindery. Black and white cover design by Umberto Boccioni. Faint underlining in red chalk. Wrappers lightly toned and soiled, a few small nicks, chips, and creases to extremities, text block toned. An excellent copy. First edition, first impression. Pratella (1880–1955) joined the Futurists in 1910 and went on to write the first music manifests for the movement, in which he emphasised the need to break free from constricting rhythms and traditional musical language. The present volume includes the score for the composer's Musica futurista per orchestra, together with his Manifesto of Futurist Musicians (1910), Technical Manifesto of Futurist Music (1911), and Destruction of Squareness (1912).
