THE HOLY BIBLE (Cover title: Illustrated Miniature Bible)
Glasgow, David Bryce & Son; London, Henry Frowde, Oxford University Press, 1901.. SECOND EDITION 1901, first published in 1896 when it was the FIRST COMPLETE MINIATURE BIBLE.   Approximately 46 x 31 x 23 mm, 1 7/8 x 1 3/16 inches (cover size), very thin India paper, frontispiece and 27 full page illustrations by Charles Bell Birch, A.R.A., bound in original publisher's greenish grey boards with dark brown all over geometric design, "Holy Bible" in dark brown to spine, "Illustrated Miniature Bible" in oval on upper board, endpapers and all edges yellow, pages: (6), 1-876, half-title on reverse of frontispiece.   No inscriptions, spine edges slightly rubbed, a touch of rubbing to corners, tiny scrape to surface on upper cover, lower hinge split, now neatly stuck down, fine crack between frontispiece and title page, another to fold of rear endpapers, otherwise binding sound, no loose pages.  A very good copy, unusual in the original boards.  No magnifying glass issued with this copy which has no pocket for it.  Bondy, Miniature Books, pages 108-111, no copy listed in printed boards;  Welsh, Bibliography of Miniature Books, No.562;  Darlow and Moule No.1306, 1896 edition.  MORE IMAGES ATTACHED TO THIS LISTING, ALL ZOOMABLE, FURTHER IMAGES ON REQUEST.
