Very Good minus with a small patch of wear to the lower tips exposing the boards, light rubbing to the other extremities, dust-dulling to the top edge, and the front hinge just starting though the binding is solid and strong. Green linen-bound hardcover with crisp gilt title and design to front and rubbed gilt title to spine. An overall better than presentable copy lacking dj. This copy was formerly owned by Lyle Reynolds Wheeler, the five-time Academy Award-winning American motion picture art director, with his elegant signature to the ffep and his small blindstamp to the lower fore corner of the title page and in the same position at four other pages inside. Photographs by Karl Blossfeldt; introduction by Karl Nierendorf. xviii + 120 full-page gravure-printed b&w plates, printed recto only on heavy paper stock; 10 x 12.5 inches. Text in German. One of the founding books of the "New Objectivity" movement in Germany in the 1930s and one of the iconic books in the history of photography.
