Macmillan and co. Ltd. London.,1904-08. FIVE VOLUMES. ILLUSTRATED EDITIONS. All reprints of editions originally published between 1895 and 1897. Pride and prejudice Illustrated with 40 full page mono plates by Charles E. Brock. The other 4 volumes each illustrated with 40 full page mono plates by Hugh Thomson. 200 fine line engravings by two of the best book illustrators of the day. Finely bound in early half green calf. Spines with single raised band. Gilt flower design to the bottom three quarters of the spines, the top section lettered and ruled in gilt. Green cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers.Top edges gilt. The blank endpapers suffer from some foxing but the books themselves are all clean and fresh throughout. Some rubbing to the spines but overall a very good, attractively bound set. The bindings aren't signed but are certainly the work of a quality bookbinder.:
