Poyntell et Soc, 1806. 8vo, pp. [4], 547; woodcut beehive device on title-p., contemporary full calf, red morocco label on spine; joints a little rubbed, top corner of title-p. torn away (no loss of text), mild toning of the text; all else generally very good. First American edition of the Cyropaedia in Latin & Greek, as edited by Thomas Hutchinson (1698-1769), and substantially corrected by American editors. This is apparently the first book printed in Greek Type cast in America. The font was cast by Binny and Rolandson under the direction of John Watts, who was brought from England to supervise the type production and the printing of this book. Shaw & Shoemaker 11903.
