Most plates browned and foxed, lacking free front endpaper, hinges neatly reinforced with green cloth, binding worn through to the boards in some places, thus good only. Moritz's illustrations for Gottfried August Burger's poetry, including his well-known ballad, "Lenore". Also includes "The Lay of the Brave Man" and "The Pastor's Daughter of Taubenhain". .
