The Memoirs of Janetta; A Tale, Alas! Too True!
Gainsborough: Printed for the Author by Henry Mozley 1812 - FIRST EDITION, a little browned at the beginning, scattered foxing, pp. 263, 8vo, uncut, disbound, good. A very rare book, a tale of riches to rags, published by subscription for Mrs. Norweb when she was in her 70s, residing in the the Almshouse of Brigg in Lincolnshire. A review of the volume (which also summarises the story) can be found in the Gentleman's Magazine for May 1717. The only copies we have been able to locate are 2 in the British Library: the WorldCat location of Toronto turns out to be POD. The paper covering the spine, a little defective at either end, could be the remains of original wrappers, rather than a lining beneath a one-time binding.
