Viewing San Benito, Texas, circa 1912, through a collection of 36 photographs mounted in a small album
San Benito, TX: San Benito Land and Water Co., nd [ca. 1912]. Photograph album. Oblong 8vo. 36 photographs, each 5 x 7 inches, several folding (5 x 14 inches), each with a printed caption opposite, picturing sugar cane, cotton, cabbage, and other agricultural operations, field irrigation, skinning deer, etc.; several photographs bear the name of a photographer (possibly "Wheelus") in the image. Though the album might well have served as the model for a period promotion (San Benito, situated between Brownsville and Harlingen in south Texas, was incorporated in 1911), we have been unable to discover any record of publication. One of the folding photographs split at fold, else very good. Original stiff wrappers. (#4351)
