The Russo-Japanese War: Naval
K. Ogawa / By Permission of the Naval Department. Hardcover. Tokyo, 1904. Oblong quarto, cloth, unpaginated. 11 pages of text in Japanese, 8 pp. text in English (lacks pages 5-6 of the English text). With 120 full page photographic plates and a folding map. A very scarce photographic history of the Russo-Japanese war, with striking photographs of the fighting at Port Arthur. Photographs are generally excellent, though there are child drawings to the versos of some of the plates. About ten plates showing marginal tears, one with a clear tape repair, but overall the photographs are in excellent condition free of foxing. The text portions are quite tattered, with various folds and marginal tears. This is the collected edition, OCLC 23762126. There is also an edition in four parts. We have graded it as good, despite the missing page of text and the drawings to the versos, due to the well preserved and complete state of the photographs and map. Extremely scarce, with OCLC locating six copies in multiple entries. Please contact us for additional pictures or information. . Good. 1904. First Edition.
